SYNCOPATED

Play, Prod. by Liverpool Everyman Theatre & Talawa, Autumn 2025

‘A rather deft allusion to the syncopation that occurs as two lives converge and displace each others’ rhythm.’

- The Stage

A stranger is playing saxophone on her bench by the docks.. He needs help writing a musical. 100 years earlier, a musician named Frank brings jazz to the docks of Liverpool. As history and time converge, can the strangers find their song?

Syncopated is an intoxicating new play set to music by Varaidzo about a music student from London and a young Liverpudlian discovering each other in the shadow of the city.
